Finally! Deathly Hallows Comic Con Trailer!…audio only

The lucky people at comic con who were at the Harry Potter panel got to see an exclusive 4 minute trailer of “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows”. Unfortunately the trailer still hasn’t leaked online yet. Must be magic.

But luckily this person managed to record the audio of the trailer.  The actual trailer starts at the 15 minute mark. And someone from ohnotheydidn’t has provided the transcript.

Voldemort: Harry Potter, you have allowed your friends to die for you rather than face me yourself. Dispose of your dead with dignity, and confront your fate. If you have not given yourself up, then I will punish every last man, woman or child who tries to conceal you from me.

The boy who lived … come to die. Avada Kedavra!

Rufus Scrimgeour: Our world has faced no greater threat than it does today, but your Ministry remains strong.

Ron: We’ve got to keep off the streets to stay safe.

Hermione: If Voldemort really has taken over the Ministry none of these places is safe.

Voldemort: Where will you be taking the boy?
Snape: To a safe house. I’m told it’s been given every manner of protection possible. Once there, it will be impractical to attack.

Voldemort: We can agree: I must be the one to kill Harry Potter.

Ron: You know why I listen to that radio every night? In case I don’t hear Ginny’s name, or George, or Mum’s.
Harry: And you think I’m not listening, too? You think I don’t know how this feels?
Ron: You do not know how it feels! Your parents are dead; you have no family!
Hermione: Stop, please!

Kingsley: The Ministry has fallen. The Minister of Magic is dead. They are coming.

Bellatrix: We’ve got Harry Potter!

Scabior: Now, we’ll not be forgetting who actually caught him.

Lupin: Harry! Don’t, don’t!

Voldemort: Only I can live forever.

I’m not a fan of all this radio drama. I really wish you and I could finally see the trailer. If you are part of the hp_commonroom community they are doing something called a “phone tree” where you could get a text if and when the footage finally leaks out. Check it out.

No Hedwig Death? I Don’t Care

Recently WB release several high quality screencaps of the new Deathly Hallows movie. One of them depicts Harry letting Hedwig go with the description “Everyone mounts up and leaves Privet Drive. Harry says goodbye to Hedwig.”
This has a caused some controversy. There has been some debate in the fandom if in the movie they are going to stay true to Hedwig’s death. From the released screenshot and description it seems that Hedwig will not die and Harry is just going to let Hedwig go.
Many comments from other Harry Potter sites, and twitter have many fans going

“nuuuuuuuuuuuuuu THE BIRD MUST DIE! It’s symbolizes the end of Harry’s childhood and his last connection of the wizarding world from the muggle world”

This picture alone doesn’t really prove anything for me. It’s just the assumption of all the fans seeing this picture that Hedwig will not die. Harry in this scene might be letting Hedwig go but that doesn’t mean 5 minutes later she won’t end up as roast owl.

Even if Hedwig doesn’t die, I still see this scene as symbolic letting go of Harry’s “childhood”. He still probably would never see her again. People working on the film might have thought this way of letting go made much more sense in the film version. Perhaps PETA had something to do with this, and Warner Bros. was pressured in not showing a bird catch fire.

If they change it to let Hedwig go, it doesn’t matter to me. I respect that the books and films are two separate entities. The movies are inspired by the books, but don’t always follow it very well. Now if only we could have some sort of sign that Fred won’t die.

Not Safe Fan Work: Lunaticus

Another week, and I’ve found another bad Harry Potter Fanfiction. I’ve heard all about this on livejournal. The pairing here is James corpse/Harry/Sirius. That’s right, a necrophilia incest fanfiction. I found this on an old angelfire hosted site.

The only relation to the characters in this fanfic and Harry Potter is that they have the same names, and can do magic. But other than that they are completely different. Oh and Harry is 18 in this fanfic (let’s all agree to that).

The Movie Only Gryffindors

The Gryffindors that are in the Harry Potter films, and only in the films, not the book.

Nigel Wespurt
The first time i noticed him was probably around the fourth movie. I don’t remember the scene, but I think that Ron was shooing him away in the Great Hall. Ron called him “Nigel”. I said out loud “Who’s Nigel?!” then was shushed. -_-;
His full name is Nigel Wespurt. He was also a part of Dumbledore’s Army. He’s actually a replacement of Colin Crevey, because the original actor wasn’t interested in returning to the Harry Potter films. Why they gave him a new name? I don’t know.

Bem
His first apperance was at the Divination class. Harry wonders what a grim is in his cup and Bem answers.

“Taking the form of a giant spectral dog, it’s among the darkest omens in our world. It’s an omen…of death.”

He was a mini meme on the internet and known as, ” mysterious plot revealing Gryffindor” when he didn’t have a name. Turns out his name is Bem, same year as Harry Potter and Nigerian background. They must have more dorms for Harry’s year because there are only five beds in Harry’s dorm, and Bem isn’t his roomate.

Harry Potter Doujinshi

This is the beginning of my post on Harry Potter Doujinshi. Which are usually Japanese Harry Potter fancomics or manga. Doujinshi can mean anything though from comics, to fanfiction, and reviews. But I’m just going to focus on the comics in these post.

Today I bring you 3 Harry Potter doujinshi. All from the Scanslation (Scan translation) group, Ramus-Kun.

Title: A Map In The Pocket.

I didn’t like the art style in this comic. Big heads and long thin bodies aren’t my thing. Mostly doesn’t have a plot. It just shows some scenes from the Sorcerer Stone, but with a bit of humor. In the beginning we see the scene where Hagrid borrows Sirius motorbike, and then crushing it as he get’s on it. The second does have somewhat of a plot. Harry loses 150 points for Gryffindor and becomes depressed. The Weasley twins comfort him.

The art is better than “A Map In The Pocket” but the characters seem to lack personality in their design. This is another “gag” manga. Harry is cute and innocent most of the time but when he’s alone with Snape he turns to a big pervert. Wish there were more scenes like that though. The second part is Sirius getting emotional about James death.

Out of the three this has the more solid stories. There is some cute Lilly/Severus moment. Lilly lost her earing and Severus goes out in the middle of the night to find it. The could of used the Accio spell -_- . Severus finally finds it and Lilly tells him that James gave it to her. Then Severus has a bad mood. It ends with James thinking about Severus. I think that author intended this to be a James/Severus pairing.
The second story is Lupin saying goodbye to Ron, and talking about Peter Pettigrew.
